About Us
Straight Answers on Flat Roofs Since 2013
The water stain in the ceiling tile is back. You have had two contractors up there already, and both came down with the same answer: tear it off. Six figures, a dumpster in the parking lot, and tenants working under plastic for three weeks. Neither of them told you whether the roof actually needs to be replaced.
That is the question we answer first.
Our Story
We Answer the Question Nobody Else Did
Mohawk Valley Roofing has been working on flat and low-slope commercial roofs since 2013, out of our shop on Saltsman Road in Little Falls. We cover the Mohawk Valley and Central New York and run east through the Capital Region: Schenectady, Albany and Chatham.
Owner Eli Byler is a multi-year Conklin Preferred Contractor, and we install the full range of Conklin systems: metal roof restoration, membrane coating, fabric-reinforced membrane, spray polyurethane foam, and single-ply for new construction. The coatings are made in the USA, are Energy Star rated and CRRC listed, and have been in the field for almost fifty years.
Here Is How It Works
We come out and inspect the roof at no cost and no obligation. You get a written evaluation that says what is failing, what is not, and what it will take to stop the leak, usually as two options rather than one. If the roof can be restored, we restore it, and you keep the deck, the insulation, and a large share of the money a tear-off would have cost. If it cannot be, we will tell you that too.
We have talked owners out of work
One property manager had been quoted re-framed crickets by three different companies for a TPO roof that would not drain. We inspected it and told him the roof was fine, the drains were the problem, and rebuilt the drains.
Smaller invoice. A customer who calls us first for the next twenty years.
If your roof is leaking and every bid you have been handed says replace it, get a second opinion before you sign anything.

Our Team
The Two People You Will Actually Deal With
A call to Mohawk Valley Roofing reaches the people who do the work. Eli is on the roof. Simon prices it and is often on it too.
Eli founded Mohawk Valley Roofing in 2013 and runs it from Little Falls, New York. He started the way the good ones do, by learning the material properly: he went through Conklin's training to learn how the restoration systems are actually meant to be installed, and kept training as the company grew. He is a multi-year Conklin Preferred Contractor, a title awarded on installed volume and quality of workmanship.
What owners tend to notice is that Eli is still the one on the roof. He does the installations. Customers name him personally, not the company, in almost every review they leave: he diagnosed a leak three other contractors had failed to find; he spent hours at his own expense clearing ponding water before a job started and never billed for it.
One customer wrote that he wished he had met Eli ten years earlier and saved himself the money.
Eli and his wife Maryann have two boys, David and Jacob. The company has stayed a family one on purpose.
Simon joined Mohawk Valley Roofing in 2019 and is usually the first person a building owner meets. He handles much of the estimating and even works the installations alongside the crew, which means the man who prices your roof is often on it while the work happens.
Owners tend to comment on how fast he moves.
One with a leaking mixed-use building wrote that Simon came out quickly and had numbers back right away, and the crew started on the day they said they would, then sent before-and-after photographs as the job went on.
Simon and his wife BethAnn have a son, Jaydon.
What Drives Us
Mission, Vision and Purpose
Mission
We keep Central New York's flat roofs watertight by restoring them wherever restoration will hold, and telling owners plainly when it will not.
Vision
A Mohawk Valley where no building owner replaces a roof that could have been restored, because someone honest looked at it first.
Purpose
Do what we said we would do, on every roof, so our name still means something here.
